| It is perhaps not without a discreet feeling of irony that the rooms of the École des Beaux-Arts were chosen for this exhibition of murals commissioned by the State: with two or three exceptions, the artists who participate in this event did not go through the School and the separation of Art and the State seemed complete until the day when, to their great astonishment no doubt, they came to ask them to decorate Faculties, Town halls, high schools, amphitheatres. Let us note the skilful sketches of Louis Dussours, those of Touchagues for the bar of the Odéon, those of Charles Dufresne of a complex and refined art for the Faculty of Pharmacy, that of Lhote, which augurs well for what will be its decoration from the Grand Amphitheater of the Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers, that of Raoul Dufy so attractive, those of Bompard, Girieud, Legueult, Le Molt, Picart-Ledoux, Riou, Gabriel Fournier, Frélaut, Tondu, d 'Angeli, by Le Carron, by d'Espagnat.
