Pierre Girieud gathered nudes and landscapes in the rooms on the first floor. Both attest to his remarkable gifts and his simplicity. Pierre Girieud does not claim to be original and, however, his paintings. unprovoked, unlike any other. He places himself with humility before the subject and, with all his conscience, all his science and all his sincerity, all together, he strives to faithfully express his excitement.
In fact, Pierre Girieud, exclusively concerned with his truth, possesses not only a personal temperament, but a style of his own, precise without cheating, serene without coldness, of a gravity in keeping with the inner feeling.
I said that Pierre Girieud's art did not provoke. It causes so little that you have to look at its canvases to see how it is painted. But, precisely, we can bend because it is painted remarkably in full paste and in full clarity, without dodging on the way, solidly and voluptuously, faithfully above all, with the hand of a perfect craftsman in love with his trade and aware of all that that he can ask her.
