| (...) His three models of frescoes for a trades court fully express Mr. Lombard's research. They show that he is among the painters of his generation, and with Mr. Girieud, one of those who know the decorative laws and who are capable of making a monumental decoration. These models, originally designed for the exhibition which will open in a few months, will not be executed there. It is to be hoped that they will find elsewhere a framework that welcomes and enhances them. (....) |
