| ... Here are the Three Graces by Pierre Girieud, this Sienese from the Old Port of Marseille, as the critic Louis Vauxcelles calls him. His canvas animated a whole panel at the Salon de Mai in Marseille last spring, I spoke about it at the time. The work here no longer benefits from the warm and beautiful light of our Old Port. These three women, austerely graceful, but so harmoniously placed in the manner of El Greco, seem very gloomy under the miserable light falling from the windows that the gray sky deglazes. The work is no less interesting. We stop there, we discuss it: it's already beautiful not to leave indifferent the one who passes....
