One of the benefits of the last extremist movement in painting is the return to the feeling of values ??and the study of drawing. In the case of blotters brutally slashed with a knife, of the constant betrayal of the volume of bodies by the tyrannical regime of deformations, a new and beneficent order follows. The piquancy of the case is that this reaction is due to a certain extent to the austere and ungrateful research of cubists. (....) The concern for the right values, the love of the line probes worries most painters. The result of this anxiety is a depreciation, perhaps momentary, of the subject. (...) Pushing the disdain of the subject to the extreme, some artists, not least titled their paintings: Painting or Composition, depending on whether the taste of painting prevails over that of composing and vice versa.
