(....) But the Salon of Decorative Artists seems to us, from the point of view of painting, extremely demonstrative and important very important. Here, on several occasions, I have said how much the easel painting was losing ground to the profile of the mural. We have excellent proof of this at this fair. The architects conceived painting as an integral part of the wall, and their design earned us a very beautiful decoration by Alfred Lombard, La Danse by d'Espagnat, the Hallalli by Henri Déziré, the Harvesters by Lotiron; fresco painters, finally one - reminiscent of some curious portolan - by Zarraga, the other, by Pierre Girieud, Daphnis and Chloé, Philémon and Baucis. There is a set of decorations, murals, whose diversity and value will not fail to attract visitors, to make artists think, to seduce users. (...)
