| In the summer of 1922, Marcel Sembat and his wife, Mrs. Georgette Agutte-Sembat, died in Chamonix. They had formed a collection of paintings by artists from the most recent schools, to which was added a large collection of works by Mme Agutte.
Before dying, Ms. Agutte had made testamentary arrangements for this collection. She left it at a museum in Paris or, failing that, at a provincial museum, on condition that it was accepted in its integrity. (....) Thanks to vigilant activity, Grenoble almost immediately obtained the benefit of the legacy. (....)
