In the summer of 1922, Marcel Sembat and his wife, Mrs. Georgette Agutte-Sembat, died in Chamonix. They had formed a collection of paintings by artists from the most recent schools, to which was added a large collection of works by Mme Agutte. Before dying, Ms. Agutte had made testamentary arrangements for this collection. She left it at a museum in Paris or, failing that, at a provincial museum, on condition that it was accepted in its integrity. (....) Thanks to vigilant activity, Grenoble almost immediately obtained the benefit of the legacy. (....) One room contains the donor's works, the other the collection. The whole of it is remarkable. (...) Girieud, with a Moses saved from the waters in the manner of the primitive Sienese (....)
