Contenu sur Girieud
M. Pierre Girieud is also a Provençal and they are both representatve of what will doubtless later be called tne Provencal School or the Marseille School of the XXth century, for the later city, and indeed the whole region - which has always been fertle in good painters - counts at the present time a considerable number of artists of talent. M. Girieud, who is equally by temperament a decorative artist, has also been holding an axhibition of his latest works (Weil Gallery). This artist shares with M. Lombard his great aptitude for composition, and if it were necessary to give him a label he might truly be called a Neo-Classic. This time he is exhibiting little besides landscapes inspired by his native Provence which, , in common with Italy, may be termed the old classic soil, whose lines and forms of themselves form naturally into a composition and whose character he has expressed with bolness and perfect comprehension.
